Admission Process

M.Sc. Biotechnology

DURATION:

	The course of post-graduate studies in Biotechnology for the degree of Master of Science shall be spread over two academic sessions which shall be divided into four semesters as follows:
	First Year : First and Second semesters.
	Second Year : Third and Fourth semester.

There shall be an examination at the end of each semester

TUTION AND OTHER FEES:

Candidates admitted to the University Teaching Department in any of the Semester shall be required to pay tuition fees and such other fees in such manner as may be prescribed by the Ordinance relating to fees or by any other regulations.

SCOPE OF STUDIES:

There shall be practicals and theory examination according to the scheme of examination in force for the time being.

The scope of studies in different theory papers and laboratory work shall be such as prescribed by the Academic Council in respect of a year on recommendation of the Board of Studies and printed in a prospectus or published by a notification.

EXAMINATION SCHEDULE:

The semester examination shall, ordinarily, be held every year at the time mentioned below, the actual date of commencement of written examination being announced by the Registrar by a notification in advance, viz:

	First and Third Semester Examination –December
	Second and Fourth Semester Examination- May

Provided that if at any time there is a candidate provisionally admitted to the Second or the Fourth Semester under the Provisions of Sub-Para (a) of 2 of this Ordinance, the Registrar may, on the recommendation of the Head of the Department, arrange for the first or the Third Semester Examination as the case may be in the month of May and also, if required second and fourth Semester Examination in the month of December.

Practical Examination shall be held on such dates immediately preceding or following the dates of theory examination as fixed by the Head of the Department.

APPLICATION FOR APPEARING AT EXAMINATION

A student of the University Teaching Department seeking admission to a semester examination shall submit his/her application on prescribed form to the office of the Registrar by the date fixed for the purpose, together with the fees for the examination as prescribed by the Ordinance and also the following certificates, from the head of the Department, viz. certificates of.

	Good conduct
	Fitness to present himself at the examination, and
